A womb with a view

One of my lucky finds has been the "Happiest Baby on the Block" white noise cd. I found it at our local library (free = even better!) Every night, we put Cole to sleep to "rain on a tin roof". Last night, when Cole started crying uncontrollably due to overstimulation, we put on "womb noises for a crying baby". Today, he's sleeping soundly to "womb noises for a calm baby"

I guess you can get a womb with a view!

Riley and Cole

Last weekend, Dave's honorary "brother" Riley the dog sat down with Gramma Kendra to get to know Cole better. You have to wonder what Cole thinks of Riley considering he's 75 pounds and coverered with fur.

Taking after Momma Bear

Cole seems to have inherited his Grandma Pauline's trait of sticking his tongue out when he's hard at work. Apparently, Grandma inherited it from her dad, so Cole must have a little extra Gulczynski blood in him!

School Days

Now that I've returned to work, Cole is going to daycare three days a week. So far, everything is going really well. Cole loves looking at the other baby at the center, Carter, and bouncing in the cute horsey jumperoo.

Everyone at Cole's new school is so nice and it's great to know that I can leave Cole in such good hands while I give my brain a little time away from baby.

Shake, Rattle, (No) Roll

Cole has learned a lot of new tricks this week! He can hold his own rattle, pick up his pacifier with his hands, kick his toys with his feet, and jump in his jumparoo. It's so much fun watching him grow and learn new tricks!

Additionally, Cole is in a great mood most of the time. He is also content by himself, which makes life a lot easier for Dave and me.

I Jumperoo, Do You?

This evening, we put together Cole's "Rainforest Jumperoo". Cole seemed really interested in all of the toys, but couldn't figure out how to jump. However, it looks like it won't be much longer!

First Mother's Day

Along with Gramma Pauline (aka "Momma Bear") and Gramma Kendra (aka "Nana"), I celebrated my first Mother's Day in style. My fantastic husband created a breakfast feast for all of the mothers - fruit, blueberry pancakes, sausage, juice, and key lime pie. We had a great time opening gifts (I am one very spoiled momma!) and enjoying Cole.

The best part of the day was spending time with our family - the second best part of the day was playing with my new Nintendo DS :)

Photos from Hawaii

Cole and I wanted to share with you our favorite photo from Hawaii. I went to a lei making class (on Lei Day no less (that's May Day to you mainlanders!)) so Cole could have his own baby sized lei. He's pretty much the cutest thing ever, if I do say so myself.
We have a ton of other photos - I'll ask Dave to post them tonight.
